Lampson Falls
Lampson Falls is located in the town of Clare, which according to the 2010 census boasts a population of 105 (go easy on her, she's the youngest town in St. Lawrence County). The falls are part of the Grasse River, and according the the SLC Chamber of Commerce are estimated to be 100' wide and 40' tall. Clare is the first stop on my list as part of the ADK 102 challenge, which entails visiting all 102 towns and villages within the blue line.
The trail is accessible by wheelchair, and should take no longer than twenty minutes (my guess is it is about half a mile). There is a nice beach and picnic area at the base of the falls, but you would be wise to bring bug spray if you plan on standing still for long.
While you're in the neighborhood, take a drive to up to Boyd Pond, or over to Russell for a beer at Satch's!
The trailhead is clearly marked on County Route 27 (just a few miles north of Degrasse).
Painted Trillium
Even the falls are wheelchair accessible!
